The Photographer
Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Maurice. I am a photographer based out of Atlanta GA. I try to catch images that make the person smile about seing themselves on print. Something that you will want to look at for years to come.
I've been a fan of photography for many years now. It started when I was 10 years old. My mom left her 35mm Minolta SLR out and I asked how it worked. She only knew the basics - how to load the film, focus on the subject and snap. So that's what I did, focused and snapped! Then off I went to the local CVS to have the film developed. The problem with that was I would forget what I did to get that perfect shot! In addition to that, I was disappointed with the slow turn around. Back then it took about a week to see results. Drop the film off, they ship it off, it gets developed, images sent back, then get picked up by me and my mom.
I didn't have the patience for it, I wanted to see the results immediately! With encouragement (my sister purchased an SLR for Christmas many years later), I began to use the SLR again. They say that with age comes wisdom, and with patience comes learning. This time, I took my time with each shot. I knew when it was the "one". It took practice and confidence. The more I practiced, the more confident I became. Experience has taught me to know when the shot is ideal - I have an "eye" for it now.
